YG Entertainment made a significant announcement via their official social media platform, sharing a poster titled “AKMU – 10th ANNIVERSARY PROJECT START.”
The focal point of this project kick-off is the revelation of AKMU’s first official fandom name, AKKADEMY. This name is a fusion of AKMU and ACADEMY, symbolizing a collective centered around art. AKMU, known for breaking barriers and crafting their unique musical universe, aims to bring fans closer to this world, inviting them to witness, listen, and experience it alongside the duo.
The accompanying visuals provide a peek into these imaginative realms. The emblem bears resemblance to a vintage school emblem infused with a playful touch, sparking viewers’ creativity.
“We have a range of projects planned to celebrate and thank the fans who have supported AKMU over the past decade, sharing in their musical journey,” stated YG Entertainment. “We will continue expanding AKMU’s universe alongside our artists, so stay tuned for what’s to come.”
In conjunction with the anniversary project, AKMU’s official global fan club, AKKADEMY, is now open for membership registration from March 21 at 2 p.m. KST until April 4 at 2 p.m. KST through the AKMU Weverse Shop. Members will receive a digital membership card and various perks, including early access to AKMU concert tickets, participation in public broadcasts, exclusive access to special events online and offline, and access to member-only content.
