The production of KBS’ highly anticipated show, “Pick Me Trip In Bali,” has hit a major snag as the cast and crew find themselves stranded in Bali due to filming without proper permits.
The incident unfolded when the crew, comprising about 30 members including popular personalities like Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, Apink’s Yoon Bomi, broadcaster Choi Hee, I.O.I actress Lim Na Young, and Secret Number’s Dita, arrived in Bali on the 21st for what was meant to be a smooth and exciting filming experience. However, their plans took an unexpected turn when Balinese authorities flagged their activities as a “thief shoot” conducted without the necessary permits.
As a result, their passports were confiscated, and they were effectively detained in Bali, unable to return home as scheduled on the 25th. The cast and crew are currently staying in a hotel, undergoing investigation by local authorities, with hopes of resolving the situation and returning to South Korea as soon as possible, possibly within the next week.
The situation has thrown the production into disarray, with cast members who were supposed to be in South Korea urgently rearranging their schedules to accommodate the unforeseen circumstances. The lack of clarity from the production team about the exact reasons for the detention has left both insiders and fans frustrated and concerned.
An insider shared, “The cast members are perplexed and frustrated, not knowing the full extent of the situation. The lack of transparency from the production team adds to the uncertainty.” Another insider expressed embarrassment over the turn of events and emphasized their commitment to resolving the situation swiftly.
“Pick Me Trip In Bali” was gearing up for its broadcast in May, promising an exciting and entertaining show for viewers. However, the unexpected delay and complications highlight the challenges of international productions and the importance of adhering to local regulations when filming abroad.
As the investigation unfolds and efforts to secure the crew’s return progress, fans and industry watchers eagerly await updates on the fate of “Pick Me Trip In Bali” and its stranded team.
