Fans of actor Lee Tae-hwan can rejoice as he makes his post-military comeback with TV CHOSUN’s upcoming weekend miniseries “DNA Love.” His agency, Man of Creation, announced on April 7 that Lee Tae-hwan has been cast in this romantic comedy, set to premiere in June.
“DNA Love” promises a unique blend of romance and comedy, revolving around Han So-jin, a genetic researcher portrayed by Jung In-sun. So-jin, who has faced numerous failed relationships, finally discovers her ideal match through genetic compatibility. Lee Tae-hwan steps into the role of Seo Kang-hoon, a dashing firefighter and So-jin’s designated caller ID, appearing as number nine on her phone. Kang-hoon becomes intimately involved in So-jin’s life, supporting her through ups and downs, while navigating a complex love triangle involving Yeon-woo, played by Choi Si-won.
Seo Kang-hoon, portrayed by Lee Tae-hwan, brings a compelling dynamic to “DNA Love.” As a 119 firefighter, Kang-hoon is not just a handsome face but also a rugged and daring rescuer, embodying a contrast to his romanticized appearance. His character is defined by unwavering dedication and responsibility, traits that set him apart from Yeon-woo and deepen the romantic tension within the narrative.
Lee Tae-hwan’s return to the screen is highly anticipated, especially after his hiatus due to military service. Enlisting in June 2022 and completing his active duty in December last year, Lee Tae-hwan has remained connected with the public through various projects and entertainment programs. His versatility as an actor, showcased across different genres, has garnered widespread recognition, further fueling curiosity about his future roles and performances.
