Once again, STRAY KIDS has made a remarkable achievement by securing the top spot for the second consecutive year on the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Global Album Sales Chart, solidifying their status as a powerhouse in the fourth generation of K-pop.
The recently unveiled 2023 Global Album Sales Chart by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry revealed that STRAY KIDS’ third full-length album “Five Star” and their latest release “Rockstar” claimed the second and fifth positions, respectively.
The Global Album Sales Chart takes into account both physical album sales and digital music downloads on a global scale. Last year, STRAY KIDS’ albums “Maxident” and “Ordinary” secured the fourth and eighth spots, respectively, making them the highest-ranking fourth-generation K-pop group with two albums in the top 10. This year, they not only maintained their position as the top fourth-generation K-pop group but also showcased their global influence by having two albums in the top five.
In February, STRAY KIDS also made waves on the 2023 Global Artist Chart and Global Album Chart, landing at No. 3 with “Five Star” and No. 9 with “Rockstar,” according to the International Phonographic Industry Association. This impressive feat further cements their place as the leading fourth-generation K-pop group on various global music charts.
Apart from their chart-topping success, STRAY KIDS is gearing up to headline several major music festivals worldwide. They are set to captivate audiences as the headlining act at ‘I-DAYS’ in Milan, Italy on July 12, ‘British Summer Time Hyde Park’ in London, England on July 14, and ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ in Chicago, USA on August 2.
